The Power by Rhonda Byrne

I’m sure that most of you reading this have seen The Secret.  If not, you don’t need to see it to get a lot from this book.

I liked the book for a couple of reasons, one of which was NOT because it gave me a secret power to change everything in my life, but instead gave me a some new ways to look at things in my life and our world.

The insights from the book are nothing new, but they are well stated and are presented in a way that I find very inspiring!  And don’t we all need a little inspiration once in a while.

I didn’t read the book, but instead listened to it.  I find that books that are meant to inspire and insight action from the reader are best to be listened to.  Maybe it’s just me, but went to Audible to download the book and saw it was read by the author, I knew it was going to be good.

Rhonda has many stories that highlight how a person can really change their life by shifting their perception of life and the universe.

One little perception shift that I thought was clever dealt with having abundance in your life.  Rhonda said to always align the bills in your wallet with the face up.

The perception shift being that you view the face of the bills as you have abundance.  Whenever you take your money out you are always consciously arranging your bills with the face up thus enforcing your perception of having abundance.

I know it is simple, but when you realize that so much we do is unconscious, this simple act brings our conscious mind into play; it causes us to take action and we all know that action is what really brings about changes!

The biggest benefit of this book is inspiration.  In fact, my suggestion to you would be to join Audible and get a monthly dose of inspiration.  You will be amazed at the selection of forward thinking audio books that you will find at Audible.

The Subconscious Mind: Your Untapped Power

I’m sure you have heard about the subconscious mind. But I bet you didn’t know that your subconscious is really running the show.

What I mean by this is that whenever you have a conscious thought, that thought was influenced by what is contained in your subconscious.
Subliminal Programming

Let me give you an example. Let’s say that when you were a child big dog jumped on you and scared the daylights out of you. Now as an adult you have a fear of big dogs or maybe all dogs. The question is why? Is it because every dog you see can hurt you or is it that when you had that experience as a child your subconscious was programmed to believe you needed to fear dogs?

If you think about it we are all products of our past events. The more traumatic or most consistent events become patterns that manifest in our outer life.

The cool thing is that you can change your beliefs; you can put your subconscious into action through suggestions from the conscious mind or from suggestions from an outside source.

Have you ever watched a commercial on TV only to find yourself buying that product the next day! An outside source (the commercial) made a suggestion and you acted on it. Now it may have been a conscious decision on your part or when you saw the product in the store it may have triggered memory of the commercial and that influenced you to buy it.

Now I know that seeing a commercial once or even 10 times won’t make you get up and walk like a zombie to the store, but all the information coming at us in our society is being processed by our subconscious.

The bottom line is that all of us are influenced by outside sources – the news, commercials, spouses, parents, billboards and on and on). Some of these influences are positive, many are not. The real problem as I see it is that we have little control over many of these influences.

The solution to the problem is to start introducing your own influencers into your daily routine and removing others.

Here is an easy way to reduce the outside influence in your life.

When you watch TV or listen to the radio, turn down the volume during the commercials. Have a book sitting next to you so you can read during the commercials, that way you won’t get the images stuck in your subconscious.

Think about this, in an hour TV show, you will get about 20 minutes of commercials! Let’s say you watch an hour of TV a day. Over the course of a year, that’s 122 hours of commercials…5 full days of companies programming you to buy their stuff! Not what I want in my head.

We all have deep seated beliefs (subconscious programs) about how life work, what we can accomplish, how much money we should make, etc and these beliefs need to be replaced with positive, life affirming beliefs that will carry you to the life you deserve.

What you need to do is to actively start putting positive stuff into your subconscious. By doing this you will be quite literally programming positive events to manifest in your life.

This is exactly what I had in mind when I created the Subliminal-Library. I decided to create a powerful set of audios that would program your subconscious mind for a beautiful life.
